The Heirloom Baby Blanket from The Kiwi Stitch & Knit Co depicts the falling leaves of the willow tree. This gorgeous blanket comes in two sizes and can be made in various yarns.  

Size: Rectangle approximately 58cm wide x 85cm long | Square approximately 85cm square
Yarn: Rectangle 7 x 8ply 50g balls - 650m total | Square 10 x 8ply 50g balls - 975m total
Needles: 4mm straight or circular with an 80cm cord
Other requirements: 14 stitch markers
Suggested yarn: Ashford 8ply merino or Broadway NZ Naturals merino.

The pattern includes suggestions for using alternate yarns to change the texture, look and purpose of the blanket, and different yarns can be used to create a smaller/finer or a larger/thicker blanket by adjusting the thickness of the yarn used and the needle size.

Alternate yarn suggestions:
4ply yarn: Reduce the needle size to 3.25mm - 3.5mm increase the overall cast on stitches in pattern, in multiples of 15sts, to desired width - knit to desired length

10-12ply yarn: Increase the needle size to 4.5mm - 5mm and reduce/increase the amount of cast on stitches, in multiples of 15sts, to desired width - knit to desired length

14ply-chunky yarn: Increase the needle size to 8mm or larger and reduce/increase the amount of cast on stitches in multiples of 15sts to desired width - knit to desired length
